Hoichoi is the world's largest digital Bengali entertainment content platform is starting with a web series now on Byomkesh Bakshi. The first episode of the web series is going to be telecast on Saturday. On October 14, which will be the first Byomkesh series to be available on an OTT platform worldwide. Byomkesh Bakshi is one of the most known Bengali fictional detective characters which is created by Saradindu Bandopadhyay. The series which was set in the 1930s and the series is based on the adventures of Byomkesh and his friend and biographer Ajit, who always helps Bakshi during his investigations. Anirban Bhattacharya, recently seen in the critically-acclaimed film Dhananjoy, portrays the lead role of Byomkesh, with Subrata Dutta in the role of Byomkesh’s trusted friend-turned-aide, Ajit. Ridhima Ghosh plays Satyabati, Byomkesh’s wife. Byomkesh has been produced by SVF, East India’s largest entertainment company, and has been directed by Sayantan Ghoshal. Saradindu Bandopadhyay had written around 32 Byomkesh stories from 1932 to 1970 prior to his death. On the other hand, Ajit Banerjee who described as his companion cum chronicler of his stories. But sometimes Ajit also investigates in absence of Byomkesh, these stories are all written in traditional Bengali language but later stories shift to colloquial (cholic) language. It is also found that the later stories are not penned by Ajit, as he is much more engaged in his publishing business.
