CA launches inquiry into unsavoury crowd behaviour towards Siraj

A group of spectators were asked to leave after Indian team complained of incident of racial abuse with Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj during the ongoing Pink Test. Cricket Australia (CA) on Sunday confirmed that it has launched an inquiry into the crowd incident that took place on day four of the ongoing Test.

CA in an official release said, "Cricket Australia has launched an investigation in parallel with NSW Police into a crowd incident at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Sunday at the conclusion of the 86th over of Australia's second innings."

The game was halted for almost 10 minutes after Mohammed Siraj walked up from the square-leg boundary and complained of racial slurs at the end of the 86th over in Australia's second innings. Former India batsman Suresh Raina on Sunday said that it is "really bad" to see the Australian crowd hurling abuses at the Indian bowlers.
