Cabinet Approves 8-Lane Corridor in Bhopal and Various Reforms

BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh state cabinet has given its approval for the construction of an 8-lane elevated corridor stretching from Kamla Park to Sant Hirdaram Nagar in Bhopal. This project will adopt the Hybrid Immunity Model. Additionally, a new medical college will be established in Raisen district.

Medical Education Minister Vishvas Sarang provided details of the cabinet's decisions, which also include the amalgamation of Pandurna and Sausar tehsils in Chindwara to form the new Pandhurna district. Furthermore, the provision of free e-scooters to secondary school students achieving first division has been simplified, allowing students to choose their own scooters.

Proposals related to various CM Rise Schools and the enhancement of their facilities have been approved. Retired kotwars will now receive a sum of Rs 1 lakh upon retirement, and beneficiaries of the Ahar Anudan Yojana will receive Rs 1500 per month.

In a significant move, the cabinet has decided that youths appearing for various competitive exams will only need to pay the exam fee once, reducing financial burdens. The families of martyr forest officials will now receive Rs 25 lakh instead of the previous Rs 10 lakh compensation.

The establishment of the Vivekanand Yuva Sansthan in the state and an increase in the daily wage and honorarium for tribal and folk artistes have also been sanctioned. Folk artistes will see their monthly honorarium rise from Rs 800 to Rs 1500, while the daily wage increases from Rs 250 to Rs 500.

Under the Niramaya Yojana, government officials and contract employees will be integrated into the Ayushman Scheme. Additionally, academic faculty at medical colleges will receive the 7th salary scale from 2016. Various other decisions, including the creation of new tehsils, were also taken during the late-night cabinet meeting at CM House.
