During Lockdown 3 and Corona transition, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and appealed to run trains to send migrant laborers. He has demanded to arrange special trains for 10-15 days from May 5. The Chief Minister has appealed after more than 6.44 lakh migrant workers registered on the portal www.covidhelp.punjab.gov.in have expressed their desire to return home. Corona's havoc returned to China, 16 new cases surfaced In the letter regarding this matter, CM said that for the return of registered people, for the next 10-15 days for transportation, the Railway Ministry will be informed daily as per the requirement. The Captain said that the officials of Punjab are working with the officials of the concerned states and railways to plan the traffic of the migrant workers. A large number of workers from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and other eastern states come to Punjab to get temporary employment in industry and agriculture. Captain said that though all arrangements have been made by the state government to provide food and shelter to these workers for six weeks, but now naturally they want to go to their homes.
