Narada scam: TMC leaders Firhad Hakim, Madan Mitra arested by CBI

Kolkata: The probe into the Narada scam has resumed as soon as the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government was formed in West Bengal. The Mamata Cabinet, accused in the scam, Minister Firhad Hakim, Cabinet Minister Subrata Mukherjee, TMC MLA Madan Mitra and former BJP leader Sovan Chatterjee have been picked up by CBI. The four have since been brought to the office CBI.

The CBI team reached the residence of transport minister and Kolkata Municipal Corporation president Firhad Hakim on Monday morning itself. After a brief search, Firhad and Hakim were arrested by CBI. Meanwhile Firhad Hakim said that 'I am being arrested in the Narada scam. The CBI team has also reached the CBI office with Subrata Mukherjee and Madan Mitra.' In addition, a team of CBI also visited the house of former BJP leader Sovan Chatterjee. Sovan Chatterjee had quit TMC and joined the BJP before the elections, but he also quit the BJP after not getting a ticket.

As per the information received, CBI says the four leaders have been brought to the CBI office for questioning in the Narada scam. These four leaders will be questioned and answered. However, CBI denied the arrest charge and said that we have not arrested any minister or MLA or any leader.
