New Delhi: Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat has said that India will form a theatre command by next year. He said countries like China and the US have already created theatre commands in view of their borders and threats. The Theatres Command had been discussed for a long time, but now they will be built in the country by 2022. Talking exclusively to the media, CDS General Bipin Rawat said that the three services will be united and strengthened. The three armies are ready to move forward together. He said that 'When changes take place, there are some obstacles, which are sometimes required. It forces us to discuss more and build better structures. CDS said different theater commands will be created in view of different challenges depending on geographical conditions. As per the need, There can be up to 4 commands in India'. Under this, maritime command, a command keeping China in mind and a blue print of theatre command for Jammu and Kashmir have been prepared in view of the maritime threat. General Bipin Rawat said that 'We can empower the three services one by one. China, THE UK and U.S. forces are already integrated. We can better use our resources and increase our operational capacity'.
