In the heart of Delhi, as the nation immerses itself in the joyous spirit of 'Vijaya Dashmi' or 'Dussehra' today, the capital city is bustling with preparations for a spectacular celebration. This day witnesses the installation of symbolic effigies at the renowned Red Fort grounds.

The Red Fort grounds, a place steeped in tradition, are renowned for hosting a grand Dussehra festival, marked by pomp and grandeur. 'Vijaya Dashmi' or 'Dussehra' stands as a symbol of the victory of virtue over vice. It is celebrated to commemorate the day when Lord Rama vanquished Ravan, an event that heralded the tradition of burning effigies of the demon king.

Furthermore, 'Vijaya Dashmi' signifies the culmination of the nine-day-long Navratri festival, observed on the tenth day of the Hindu month of Ashvin. Typically falling in the months of September or October in the Gregorian calendar, this festival also kickstarts the preparations for Diwali, a vibrant festival celebrated twenty days later.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his heartfelt greetings to the citizens on the occasion of 'Vijaya Dashmi,' conveying, "I send my warmest wishes to my fellow citizens across the nation on the auspicious occasion of Vijaya Dashmi. This sacred festival serves as a reminder to conquer negativity and embrace goodness in our lives. Here's to a joyous Vijaya Dashmi!" PM Modi shared on 'X'.
