Modi govt gives 'festival gift' to central employees of THESE states

New Delhi: Central government employees in Kerala and Maharashtra have been given a big gift ahead of the Onam and Ganesh Chaturthi festivals. The Central Government has announced the release of advance salary for the employees of these States. The Centre is said to have taken this decision with a view to boosting demand and consumption during the festive season.

A memorandum issued by the Ministry of Finance on August 11 said, "In view of Onam and Ganesh Chaturthi festival, the Government has decided that the salary/pension of all central government employees in the State of Kerala and Maharashtra will be released on the days of 19/08/2021 (Kerala) and 18/09/2021 (Maharashtra). It will also benefit government employees related to defense posts and telecom.'’

The memorandum says, "The salaries of central government industrial employees working in the states of Kerala and Maharashtra will also be disbursed in advance as per the above dates. The pension of all central government pensioners in the state of Kerala and Maharashtra will also be disbursed by the bank as per the date given above.'’
