Delhi's corona worsens, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan to visit hospitals

New Delhi: The Centre has come into action mode on the uncontrollable situation of the corona epidemic in the national capital. Amidst the increasing number of cases of the corona epidemic, Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan today visited the Trauma Centre in AIIMS to inspect the health facilities there. He was accompanied by AIIMS Director Dr. Randeep Guleria. Health Minister Harsh Vardhan will visit many more hospitals.

The Health Minister tweeted, "In view of the growing threat of corona in Delhi, I will visit health facilities for the next few days. Starting this morning at the AIIMS Trauma Centre." Delhi, which is reeling under the fourth wave of coronavirus epidemic, has surpassed the economic capital Mumbai in daily affairs, becoming the worst affected city in the country. Delhi has recorded the highest number of corona cases in a single day as compared to Mumbai. More than 17,000 corona cases have been reported in Delhi on Wednesday, the highest number of cases a day in a city. Earlier, Mumbai had recorded the highest number of 11,163 cases in a day so far on April 4.

Delhi on Thursday reported 16,699 new covid-19 cases and 112 deaths due to infection. The capital had found 17,282 new cases of infection the day before, the highest ever. Cases have been growing a lot over the past few days. The death toll from corona in the city has risen to 11,652.
