Hackers has attacked these much website in the last five months

Talking to reporters in Parliament on Thursday, Information Technology and Telecommunications Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that in the past five months, 25 central ministries and state government websites have been targeted by hackers.

Prasad told Parliament on the basis of information provided by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) that in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 (till May), 199, 172, 110 and 25 websites of the Central Ministries/Departments and state website have been hacked respectively.  He further expressed concern that cyberattacks have become a global problem since the expansion of information and technology services.

"Cyberspace is a virtual and borderless world," Prasad said in his statement. In this case, a cyberinated in any corner of the world can attack any site at any time. The government is taking a number of stringent measures to prevent cyber attacks," he said.

For your information, the government has set up the National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Centre (NCIIPC), which works under the provisions of the IT Act 2000.
