New Delhi: The Central government is set to introduce a new, simplified pension application form for retiring employees on Friday, as announced in an official statement. This new form, known as "Form 6-A," was released by the Department of Pension & Pensioners' Welfare (DoPPW) on July 16, 2024. Starting from December 2024, all central government employees nearing retirement will be able to access Form 6-A via the Bhavishya/e-HRMS online modules. Employees using e-HRMS will complete the form through this platform, while those not using e-HRMS will fill it out via Bhavishya. Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, Jitendra Singh, will officially launch the new form and its integration with Bhavishya/e-HRMS on August 30, 2024. The simplification of this form is part of the Centre's "maximum governance-minimum government" policy. The new form consolidates nine previous forms into one, significantly streamlining the process. This reform aims to enhance the pension application experience by allowing employees to complete their submission with a single sign-on. Additionally, it advances the digitization of pension processing from submission to payment, contributing to a more paperless system. The new form is designed with a user-friendly interface, ensuring that pensioners will not have to worry about missing or incorrectly filled forms.
