LUCKNOW: The moon landing of Chandrayaan-3 will be broadcasted in real-time across all government-run schools in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that these institutions would be specially opened for the event on the evening of Wednesday. At 5:27 pm on August 23, the Chandrayaan-3's lunar landing procedure will be live-streamed on the ISRO website, YouTube channel, and DD National. To facilitate this, arrangements have been made to host special sessions in schools and educational establishments from 5:15 pm to 6:15 pm, as stated by the Uttar Pradesh government. ISRO has meticulously planned the gentle touchdown of the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft for 06:04 pm IST on August 23. Although officials remain confident in the mission's adherence to its schedule, there exists a potential for the landing to be postponed to August 27 if any abnormalities are detected in the health metrics of the lander module. Commencing on July 14 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, the closely observed expedition to the lunar south pole aims to accomplish several objectives. Chandrayaan-3 is designed for a safe and soft landing, deployment of a rover on the moon's surface, and the execution of in-situ scientific experiments. On August 23, the lander will endeavor to touch down on the lunar surface from an altitude of 30 kilometers, with a velocity of 1.68 kilometers per second. The focal point of this operation is to curtail the velocity, considering the influence of the Moon's gravitational force. Failure to manage this speed could result in a crash landing, cautioned ISRO Space Applications Centre Director Nilesh Desai. Meanwhile, back on Earth, a sense of devotion and anticipation has taken hold. Religious ceremonies were observed in multiple cities on Tuesday to seek success for the mission. Both governmental and private entities are also arranging watch parties to collectively witness the event.
