IPL 2021: CSK gets big shock before tournament, Myntra to stay as front-runner

New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is counted among the most successful teams of the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, the last IPL season of the team was not good and now it has received bad news before the next IPL. There are reports that Skoda, a well-known car maker, has withdrawn its sponsorship deal with CSK.

The three-time IPL champion CSK and Skoda were to have a contract of 25 crores. Carmaker Skoda has decided that it will not enter into an agreement with CSK for the upcoming IPL. This would surely have dealt a major blow to CSK's expectations. After the withdrawal of Skoda's name, online fashion company Myntra can contract with CSK. If the news is to be believed, there may be a contract between Myntra and CSK between Rs 22 to 23 crore, which is less than the agreement of Skoda. CSK has been one of the successful teams of IPL, but according to industry experts, the situation has changed for CSK after the last season.

A media report quoted an expert who deals in IPL team sponsorship as saying, “IPL depends entirely on performance. When CSK was performing brilliantly, Mahendra Singh Dhoni was at the top of the world. There was a line of brands at CSK's door. But as soon as the performance declines and Dhoni is in his retirement mode, it is very difficult for CSK. ”
