CHENNAI: The Indian Racing League events will take place at the Madras International Circuit (MIC), the nation's first permanent racing track, on the weekends of November 25 and December 2, the organisers said on Monday. In preparation for the inaugural Indian Racing League, Madras International Circuit also hosted the season's pre-testing on Monday. Racing Promotions Pvt Ltd (RPPL), the league's organiser, is sending 24 eminent foreign and Indian drivers to the nation for four weekends commencing on November 19 to provide racing fans with a one-of-a-kind show. Six city-based teams, including Chennai Turbo Riders, Speed Demons Delhi, Bangalore Speedsters, Hyderabad Blackbirds, GodSpeed Kochi, and Goa Aces, will compete at MIC in Chennai. The 13-time Indian national champion driver Vishnu Prasad, who has a wealth of racing expertise, is a member of the Chennai Turbo Riders. The Chennai team also includes well-known drivers like Nicole Havrda, a young up-and-coming talent who is a proven racer with multiple podium finishes, and Parth Ghorpade, an Indian professional driver from Maharashtra who has won the national championship five times. Jon Lancaster is a veteran British driver who has won the European Le Mans Series among other championships. "The Indian Racing League is the ultimate effort to promote Indian motorsports on a global scale and give aspiring racers a stage to compete against drivers from other countries.
