Raipur: An encounter took place between naxalites and district reserve guard (DRG) jawans in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh. In the encounter, which took place around 6 am on Monday, DRG jawans killed a woman naxalite with a prize of Rs 2 lakh. A large quantity of ammunition and weapons were recovered from the spot. The encounter took place near Gumalnar. According to the information, the DRG personnel were conducting search operations. Meanwhile, they had an encounter with naxalites near Gumalnar. There was firing from both sides during the encounter. According to media reports, Dantewada superintendent of police confirmed the encounter and said that a 24-year-old woman naxalite has been piled up. According to the Superintendent of Police, a reward of Rs 2 lakh was announced on the woman naxalite Vaiko Pike who was killed. According to Dantewada SP Abhishek Pallava, Vaiko's body has been recovered from the encounter site. He said two kilograms of improvised explosive devices, two indigenously manufactured weapons and other belongings were recovered from the spot. DRG personnel have recovered black uniform from the encounter site.
