Chief Minister Harish Rawat's return to office

After Supreme Court high voltage hearing of 70 minute of the Centre’s appeal on Friday plagued Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat's return to office lasted exactly 24 hours and gave a fresh twirl to the political drama in the state.Earlier,  Judgement of the Uttrakhand High Court that quashed the imposition of the President’s rule.

However, the apex court restored the presidential proclamation and virtually asked the CM to stay away from reigns till Wednesday. The HC judgment had resulted in Rawat resuming office and calling cabinet meetings where several decisions were taken.

A bench headed by justice Dipak Misra primarily stayed the operation of the high court order on the ground that HC's typed and signed copy is not yet out for the benefit of the parties in the appeal.

The Bench stated "balance has to be maintained to protect the interest of all parties" till the HC order is made available.
