Beijing: The Hong Kong government is ready to support Beijing in a retaliatory investigation against United States sanctions imposed on 11 Chinese high-ranking officials. The Hong Kong government spokesman said in a statement that Hong Kong is an unbreakable part of the Republic of China. By recognizing and applying China's 'one country, two systems' principle, Hong Kong's public interest is served and all these represent the common aspirations of the people of China. The government has said in a statement that we are going to fully support the central government for retaliation. The US Treasury Department reported on Friday that the United States has imposed sanctions on 11 individuals in response to an alleged attempt to undermine Hong Kong's autonomy. Including the US Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Chief Executive Carrie Lam, Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) Commissioner Chris Tang, former HKPF Commissioner Stephen Low, HKSAR Security Secretary John Lee and HKSAR Secretary Justice Teresa Cheng and other people have been banned.
