Beijing: China on Thursday reacted sharply on the statement of army chief General Bipin Rawat. Army Chief had said that Beijing is taking the examination of restraint of India. China said that this statement is contradictory to the views expressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Chenfing in Shyamy this week. While addressing the seminar organized by the Center for Land Warfare Studies in New Delhi, Rawat said that India should be prepared for war on two fronts, as China has started showing its strength, while there is no reconciliation with Pakistan. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang statement: Responding to this statement, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said, "We have seen statements of related people in India, we have seen some statements in the Indian press too. Referring to the views expressed by him in the first meeting of Shi and Modi after the end of the 73-day deadlock between the two countries' forces in Dokalam, Geng also asked if Rawat is authorized to speak and what their views represent the attitude of the Government of India. China and India are important neighbors: Geng Shuang Shuang said, "As news has come in the Indian press. We do not know whether he was authorized to say such things or not, or it was only his autobiographical statement or his point of view represent the stand of the Government of India." Describing China and India as important neighbors and two big countries Geng said that strong and sustainable development of relations is beneficial for both countries. He said that the international community wants to see it.
