Chintan Shivir: BJP keeping country in permanent state of polarisation, says Sonia

UDAIPUR: Sonia Gandhi targeted the BJP in her inaugural presentation at the Congress'Chintan Shivir' on Friday, alleging that the party was continually 'playing the polarisation game and spreading fear in the public.'

She remarked, "What Prime Minister Modi and his colleagues truly mean by their motto "maximum governance, minimal government" has now become clearly and tragically evident. It means maintaining a persistent state of polarisation in the country, forcing people to live in continual fear and insecurity, and mercilessly victimising and often brutalising minorities who are integral members of our society and equal citizens of our Republic."

The interim Congress President stated that the country was watching the party and that Congressmen should send a single message of unity from here outside, but that they may speak freely inside the party's numerous forums. Sonia Gandhi said she was aware of recent poll losses but was not concerned because the party would continue to battle despite the obstacles.
