Choose the best Lipstick shade according to your skin tone!

Picking up a lipstick shade that will not only go well with your outfit but also with your skin tone is very necessary. And finding a shade which goes well with your skin tone is a task in itself, however, we have got you covered (as always *winks*).

There are literally hundreds of lipstick shades to pick from, it might seem like a world full of rainbows and unicorns, or a task which feels like a mission instead of something that you love doing. Even though a majority of those shades will look good on you but knowing what is best for you will make you rock anything.

Now, coming right to the topic, in order to figure out which look is best for you you must first know your skin tone, another benefit of finding it out is that it will also be helpful for finding out a perfect foundation for you.

To know your skin complexion, examine your skin in natural lighting.

Fair skin: your skin is very pale or translucent and you burn very easily. You may have freckles and some redness.

Light skin: your skin is pale. When you are in the sun, you burn and then may possibly tan.

Medium: you tan easily and generally don't burn or have sensitive skin.

Tan: your skin is tan or olive. You rarely burn and look tanned even in the winter.

Deep: your skin is dark and you never get sunburned. Your hair is possibly black or dark brown.

Now determine your skin undertone:

There are three kinds of skin undertones, cool, warm, and neutral.

If you have cool undertones:

1. Lighter skin tones tan more rosy than golden.

2. Light to medium skin tones tan more of deep cinnamon.

3. Deeper or richer skin tones tan more reddish.

If you have neutral undertones:

1. The skin has no predominant shade.

2. When in the sun, you can burn or tan.

If you have warm undertones:

1. Lighter skin tones tan more peach.

2. Light to medium skin tones tan more golden.

3. Deeper or richer skin tones tan more caramel.

Depending on your lip size you can determine whether you need dark or light lipstick, if you have plump lips then go for bold and dark colours and avoid light glossy lipsticks, on the other hand, if you have comparatively smaller lips, go for lighter or glossy shades.

How to shop for Lipstick?

Trying the lipstick on before buying it is a must, you do not want to regret things. Instead of applying it to your lips dab the lipstick on your fingertips. Your fingertips are closer to your lip colour than your wrist or the side of your hand. Remove one lip colour before trying on the next one.

Another tip is to choose one, whether you want bold eyes or bold both, cause both being bold will make you look scary.
