Gopalganj: The body of a sub-inspector of the crime investigation department (CID) was found in the room of a hotel in the Nagar police station area of Gopalganj district of Bihar. Police have recovered the body and are investigating. A police official said on Tuesday that Sanjay Kumar, a resident of Arara village in the Vaishali district, was working in a CID in Gopalganj. Police said Sanjay Kumar's body was found in a hotel room at Maunia Chowk. Some bottles of wine were also found in his room. According to police, they had been staying at the hotel since Saturday. He had left for Gorakhpur on Sunday and returned to the room at 8.30 pm and did not leave the room on Monday. Gopalganj Superintendent of Police Anand Kumar said Sanjay Kumar's wife called the hotelier at 5 pm on Monday and told him that Sanjay Kumar is not receiving the call. The hotel staff then tried hard to open the door of the room. The police were informed when the door did not open. He said the police are investigating the entire case. The body has been sent for postmortem. The cause of death will be known only after the post mortem report is received. According to sources, Sanjay was also suffering from sugar disease.
