New Delhi: The 'Kisan Andolan' that the Congress was making wind against the Modi government across the country by supporting it is now becoming a sore throat. While farmers' leaders went to West Bengal and campaigned for Mamata Banerjee and gave a thumbs up to the alliance of left parties and Congress, Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh's appeal is also not affecting the farmers. In fact, Amarinder last Sunday urged the Bharatiya Kisan Union to stop its proposed 3-day dharna demonstration, otherwise it could become a 'super spreader' of corona. The farmers' organisation wants to take out a rally to protest against the Punjab government's failure to manage corona. The protest, which begins on Friday, will begin from Patiala in south-eastern Punjab. This has also become a question of credibility for CM Amarinder as Patiala is not only his constituency but he has also been the honorary 'Maharaja' here for the last 51 years. This area has been the stronghold of their forefathers. CM Amarinder also denied the allegation that he had failed to manage corona. He said that he has put his life into making Punjab look like Delhi, Maharashtra and even Uttar Pradesh.
