CM Vijayan's attack on Congress, says 'Why is Rahul not going to...'

Kochi: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan of Kerala has questioned Rahul Gandhi's silence on the Congress taking power in states and union territories like Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Puducherry, targeting Rahul Gandhi. Vijayan also wanted to know why Rahul is not going to the states where there is a direct contest between the Congress and the BJP.

CM Vijayan said, 'Rahul Gandhi is the main leader of the Congress Party. Is he going to the state where there is a direct contest between Congress and the BJP? What role did he play in Goa, Manipur, Bihar, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and recently in Puducherry?' CM Vijayan asked, 'Why is he silent about these states? Why is Rahul Gandhi, former Congress National President, avoiding going to places where his party is in direct competition with the BJP? Vijayan described Gandhi as a 'good tourist' and sarcastically said that his tour to Kerala would give a boost to the tourism industry of the state.

Earlier, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi is seen to be surrounded badly within the party regarding his statement of North-South. Instead of protecting him from the BJP attacks, senior Congress leaders are saying that only Rahul Gandhi can clear his statement. Accusing Rahul of doing politics of divide and rule, the BJP expressed favor to the north Indians and said that it was very dense.
