CM Yogi Adityanath Announces Compensation After Tragic Wall Collapse

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced compensation of Rs 4 lakh for each of the six victims, including two children, who lost their lives in a wall collapse during a wedding ritual in Mau district.

Additionally, Rs 50,000 will be given to the families of the injured, with the state government covering all medical expenses.

The tragedy occurred in the Ghosi area when an old wall collapsed on women participating in the ritual. As per the Mau District Magistrate, the incident transpired as some women from a local village were taking part in the ritual under the old wall, resulting in its collapse and trapping those underneath.

Following the incident, authorities deployed an earthmover to clear debris, ensuring the rescue of those trapped inside. The rescued individuals were promptly rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
