Kolkata: Trinamool Congress (TMC) national general secretary and CM Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee's wife Rujira Narula Banerjee has once again been stopped at Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. Rujira was on her way to Dubai but was stopped before she could board the flight. She was stopped at the airport in connection with the Bengal coal smuggling scam. Actually, the Central Investigation Agency Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Rujira Banerjee for questioning after 2 days. On Monday, when she arrived at the airport to catch a flight to Dubai, she was stopped by the immigration department and refused to board. According to sources, Rujira was stopped on the basis of an active look-out-circular issued again. The investigating agency claims that two companies named Leaps and Bound Private Limited and Leaps and Bound Management Services LLP are linked to Abhishek Banerjee and his family. The ED claims that these firms allegedly received security funds to the tune of Rs 4.37 crore from a construction company through the accused, who are being probed in the coal smuggling case. Sources have told the media that during its investigation, the ED has found that two companies with links to CM Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee and his family - Leaps and Bound Private Limited and Leaps and Bound Management Services - took protection funds worth Rs 4.37 crore from a construction company through the accused. Abhishek's father Amit Banerjee is reportedly one of the directors of Leaps and Bound Private Limited. Abhishek's wife Rujira Banerjee is reportedly a director of Leap and Bound Management Services Ltd along with his father.
