Col. B. Santhosh Babu awarded Maha Vir Chakra by President Ram Nath Kovind

New Delhi: Colonel Santosh Babu was awarded the Mahavir Chakra by President Ram Nath Kovind today for his bravery while taking battle with Chinese forces in the Galwan Valley in Ladakh. Colonel Santosh Babu had given his life to prevent Chinese forces from entering the camp. The Commanding Officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment was Col Santosh.

During a battle in Galwan on June 15, 20 Indian Army personnel were myrtered in an attempt to prevent Chinese troops from invading. India's second-largest gallantry award is the Mahavir Chakra. Col. B Santosh Babu, who was martyred in a severe confrontation with the Chinese army in the Galwan Valley, was in charge of the discussions with the Chinese side when he was martyred late at night. Col Santosh Babu, a native of Telangana's Suryapat area, has already convened multiple sessions to defuse tensions.

According to army sources, colonel Babu went to speak with the Chinese troops that night when they did not retreat as planned. Meanwhile, Chinese forces assaulted them, forcing Indian troops to retaliate. Conflicts occurred on both sides as a result of this. Stones, sticks, and sticks have vanished. On both sides, several persons were injured.
