Clash between two JNU student groups, people from outside also came to fight

New Delhi: Two groups of students fought on the campus of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in the country's capital Delhi on Thursday (November 10). Matters got worse when outsiders also intervened. Two students sustained minor injuries in the clash. However, as soon as the information was received, the police reached the campus and handled the situation. Police said they are on the lookout for the students involved in the dispute.

JNU Students' Union councillor Anagha Pradeep said, "When we received a message in the afternoon that a crowd of people carrying sticks and tube lights in cars was coming here, the JNUSU president informed the Delhi Police. He said that JNU has repeatedly proved to be a failure in terms of security arrangements.'' Anagha Pradeep said, "We received information about the ruckus at Narmada Hostel last night. In which one student was badly beaten. Earlier, there was also a fight in the Sutlej hostel. The security office was informed about this, but even after this, the JNU administration did not take any steps to ensure the safety of the students.''

No complaint has been registered and no arrest/detention has been made so far, police said. The fight took place over a personal matter between two students. At the same time, a purported video has surfaced from the university campus. In which some people have sticks and bats in their hands.
