Congress demands CM Yeddyurappa's resignation, accuses him of corruption

Bengaluru: The Congress on Sunday demanded Karnataka CM BS Yeddyurappa's resignation from his post over allegations of corruption. Hitting out at the BJP government in the state, Congress veteran leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi said the state government is involved in corruption with its leaders.

Singhvi was making a statement on the allegation leveled by opposition leader Siddarmaya at Yeddyurappa's son Bi Vijayendra. Vijayendra is alleged to have bribed the Bengaluru Development Authority contractor for some work. Congress has once again accused Yeddyurappa, his son, son-in-law, and grandson of corruption of Rs 662 crore. Manu Singhvi said that the alleged audio and WhatsApp conversations of Yeddyurappa's sons and grandchildren clearly show that he has been involved in corruption. Singhvi questioned why no criminal complaint has been lodged in the case so far.

He questioned the BJP's silence in the matter whether the CM of Karnataka has any special power? In a press conference, Singhvi said that if there is any shame in the BJP and the CM, either Yeddyurappa should resign or he should be taken to rest.
