Congress leader Adhir Ranjan requests PM Modi to release this man

Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to intervene in acquitting the detained social activist Varvara Rao in connection with the Bhima Koregaon case. Rao has been shifted to Sir JJ Hospital due to deteriorating conditions. In his letter on Monday, Chaudhary wrote, 'In this India, 1 person of 81 years is jailed for years without knowing his crime. Now he is no longer mentally competent, he is not getting any medical help, whose name is Kavi Varvara Rao.'

In his letter to Prime Minister Modi, he told that he should be released from jail. In this age, he cannot be a crisis for one of the strongest countries in the world. Appealing to Prime Minister Modi, he said that you can interfere in this case and save his life. Otherwise, our future generations will not forgive us.

In November 2018, Varavara Rao along with five others was detained on charges of inciting links with Naxalites and inciting violence. Rao was detained by Pune policemen along with Sudha Bhardwaj, Arun Ferreira, Vernon Gonsalves, and Gautam Navlakha in the Bhima-Koregaon violence case. On January 1, 2018, one person died in the violence in Bhima Koregaon, Pune, and several people were injured besides 10 policemen. In this case, the policemen had registered 58 cases against 162 people.
