Congress leader who resigned as Rajya Sabha MP joins BJP

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party is continuously working to strengthen its position in the Rajya Sabha. Recently, the party has made a strong dent in the opposition camp. In this episode, Rajya Sabha member of Congress KS Ramamurthy resigned from Rajya Sabha from Karnataka. Ramamurthy has joined BJP tomorrow i.e. on Tuesday. Ramamurthy joined BJP in the presence of BJP general secretaries Arun Singh, Bhupendra Yadav and Union Minister Prahlad Joshi in the party's central office.

He resigned from the Rajya Sabha membership on Wednesday. The number of members of the main opposition party Congress in the Upper House is now 45, while the number of NDA members including BJP is 106 in the House, while five seats in Rajya Sabha are still vacant. In the Upper House, BJP also gets support from 11 of AIADMK, seven of BJD, six of TRS, two members of YSR Congress. In such a situation, there is an increased hope for the BJP that the number of NDA members can cross the Bahmut in the coming time.

This will reduce the difficulty of the NDA, which is facing opposition from the opposition on many important bills. In June 2016, KC Ramamurthy was elected a Rajya Sabha member. Elections were then held for four Rajya Sabha seats in Karnataka, three of which went to the Congress and one to the BJP. Oscar Fernandes, Jairam Ramesh and KC Ramamurthy were elected to the Rajya Sabha from the Congress, while Nirmala Sitharaman was elected a Rajya Sabha member from the BJP. Let me tell you that the government was successful in getting many important bills passed by Parliament in the last session.
