Bhopal: The Congress, which is looking for a return to power through a by-election in Madhya Pradesh, is getting a jolt. Congress MLAs are constantly leaving him. Now Congress MLA from Mandhata, Narayan Patel has resigned from the membership of the assembly. There has been speculation about his joining the BJP. With the resignation of Narayan Patel, 27 assembly seats have become vacant out of the total 230 seats in the state, for which by-elections will be held soon. Sources said that Lodhi was in touch with BJP veteran Uma Bharti. Hours after resigning, the state government made him the chairman of Madhya Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation, giving him the status of a cabinet minister.
