The Congress has decided that after the former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram, the party will fully support them in the case of former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat.

A sting case against Rawat is likely to come on September 20 by the Nainital High Court. In view of this, the party leadership has instructed all senior leaders of the state including in-charge Anugraha Narayan Singh to remain with them in Nainital. Congress state in-charge Anugraha Narayan Singh said, "By creating a false case, the BJP government has taken action against the Congress leader with a sense of revenge."
