Congress Suspends 13 Leaders for Anti-Party Activity Days Before Haryana Assembly Elections

Chandigarh: Days ahead of the Haryana Assembly polls, the Congress party has suspended 13 leaders for six years due to anti-party activities. Among those expelled is Sajjan Singh Dhull, the former candidate for the Pundri and Pai Legislative Assembly seats, who joined Congress last December.

In an official notification, the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee stated that reports indicated these leaders were engaging in anti-party actions by contesting the ongoing assembly elections against the party's candidates. This move aims to address indiscipline within the party, as highlighted in the notification.

The suspended leaders include Naresh Dhande from the Guhla (SC) Assembly segment, Pradeep Gill from Jind, Sajjan Singh Dhull from Pundri, Sunita Battan from Pundri, Rajiv Mamuram Gondar from Nilokheri (SC), Dayal Singh Sirohi from Nilokheri (SC), Vijay Jain from Panipat Rural, Dilbeg Sandil from Uchana Kalan, Ajit Phogat from Dadri, Abhijeet Singh from Bhiwani, Satbir Ratera from Bawani Khera (SC), Nitu Mann from Prithla, and Anita Dhull Badsikri from Kalayat.

Haryana is set to hold elections on October 5 to elect a 90-member state legislative assembly, with counting scheduled for October 8. In the previous 2019 elections, the BJP emerged as the single-largest party with 40 seats, while Congress secured 30 seats.
