Congress VP Rahul Gandhi addressed in a 'Vikas se Vijay Ki Aur' rally in HP

Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi addressed a 'Vikas se Vijay Ki Aur' rally in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi, enthusiastically started the party’s election campaign in the hilly state. The rally comes amid reported power struggle in the party between Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and state unit chief Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.

Targeting brutally the Modi government, Rahul Gandhi says the Centre’s “swift implementation” of Goods and Services Tax (GST), which was kicked off by the UPA, has resulted in job losses. “In Gujarat, 30 lakh young men and women have lost their jobs because of GST,” said the CongressVP.

Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi speaking in Mandi rally said the biggest problem is ‘unemployment’ in our country. Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi says Congress-ruled Himachal Pradesh is ahead of Gujarat in terms of job creation. The barrage comes even as the PM is on a two-day trip to his home state.

At the rally, Rahul Gandhi is anticipated to take on the BJP on issues of array from GST to the attacks on Dalits by so-called cow vigilantes. He is also estimated to reply to former chief minister and Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly Prem Kumar Dhumal’s finger pointing that the Virbhadra Singh government laid down the state 10 years back.
