The Congress workers organized a 'free hug' campaign at Connaught Place yesterday, replicating the gesture of the grand old party President Rahul Gandhi when he hugged PM Narendra Modi during no confidence motion debate in the Parliament, as ANI reported. The Congress workers held placards with the slogan 'remove hatred, save country'. As Congress scion hugged PM Narendra Modi in the lower house of Parliament, Congress Party president Rahul Gandhi had declared that he did not feel any anger in his heart for the Prime Minister. "You call me pappu, you hurl other abuses at me, but there is no anger inside me for you," he asserted. In LS Gandhi injected his ‘Earthquake’ speech with jokiness while the Congress leader took on PM Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) over the issues of Hindu nationalism and intolerance that is spread across the country. It is noted that Gandhi scion’s performance brought smiles, cheers and jeers, even from the Prime Minister, Gandhi distinctly took the chance to strengthen his own Hindu credentials. A war of words erupted in Lok Sabha after the no-confidence motion in opposition to PM Modi –led government. However, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance had the numbers to hit the motion and he won the trust vote.
