New Party President should be from Gandhi family, workers demand

New Delhi: Several activists gathered outside the party headquarters as the Congress Working Committee (CWC) digital meeting started on the issue of safety and said they did not accept any person outside the Gandhi family as the Congress chief. Raising slogans with a plank in their hands is a sign that there is increasing conflict within the Congress on the issue of leadership.

These activists shouted slogans in support of the party's interim president Sonia Gandhi, party leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi. A worker had a plank in his hand, on which it was written that "If the President post goes to someone other than the Gandhi family, the party will break." Along with this, Congress workers also raised slogans of "President not allowed outside Gandhi family".

A new political storm came in the party on Sunday when the letter was written to Sonia Gandhi on behalf of 23 senior leaders to demand a full-time and grassroots active president and change in the organization from top to bottom. The CWC meeting is going on to discuss the leadership issue.
