Maharashtra's transition not diminishing despite strict restrictions, Rajesh Tope expresses concern

Mumbai: Strict restrictions like lockdown imposed in Maharashtra but still cases of corona infection are on the rise. State Health Minister Rajesh Tope has expressed concern last Saturday. In fact, he said in a statement, "More than three weeks have passed since the Maharashtra government imposed strict restrictions to prevent the spread of corona virus, but the average number of infection cases in the state is still more than 50,000, which is a matter of concern".

At the same time, he added, "Out of the total 36 districts of Maharashtra, 12 have reduced corona cases, but in some other districts, the cases are more. The lockdown-like restrictions announced by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray came into effect on April 14, banning inter-district travel from one city to another. He also said, "Non-essential services have been discontinued in the state. The measures, including a weekend ban on movement of people, have been extended later to May 15".

In a further statement, Rajesh Tope said, "The government took measures like lockdown, but the average number of daily cases is still coming in between 50,000 and 60,000. The transition rate is also at a high level. The Government will review the situation and decide whether to take measures like these lockdowns forward".
