Rampur: Corona Positive Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and Lok Sabha MP Azam Khan refused to go to King George Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow for treatment. Azam Khan and his son Abdullah, who was lodged in Sitapur jail, were found infected with corona on Friday (April 29th) after which they were isolated in a separate barrack within the jail. According to reports, former Akhilesh government minister Azam Khan, who was found infected with corona lodged in Sitapur district jail in Uttar Pradesh, was taken to the jail gate by ambulances along with police officers to take him to KGMU Lucknow for treatment, but Azam Khan flatly refused to leave. Corona positive Azam Khan was to be shifted to Lucknow medical college for better treatment on Sunday night. The heavy police force was deployed at the main gate of the jail at around 9 pm to protect them including ambulances. But at about 1 p.m., Azam Khan refused to go to Lucknow citing improvement in his health. The ambulance parked outside the jail then returned along with the police force. Police officials explained to Azam Khan for a long time to take him to Lucknow for better treatment. But Azam khan finally refused to go to Lucknow by road.
