Nitin Gadkari's directive has come at a time when there is a lockdown in the country in view of the coronavirus epidemic. He said that toll-free national highway will ease the supply of essential goods across the country and the movement of patients with curfew passes and needy people will become easier. Urging people to follow the lockdown, the Union Minister said that the decision of toll-free has been taken for those who have to go out for necessary work.
