The TS government has arranged for farmers to buy cotton

Telangana Agriculture Department issues tokens to farmers for proper distance management and smooth operation, cotton purchase. This will help to avoid unnecessary waiting for farmers in the purchase centres. The purchase center was established by the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI). CCI has agreed to establish 300 ginning mills and purchase centres at nine market yards across the state.

Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy reviewed the arrangements for the purchase of cotton on Monday. He directed the concerned authorities to make foolproof arrangements to ensure that cotton farmers do not suffer due to rains. He urged them to take steps to ensure that the tarpaulin covers, godown space and other arrangements at the purchase centres are not damaged due to rain. He advised farmers to follow the token system and avoid unnecessary congestion in purchasing centres. He suggested that millers should complete contracts with CCI in advance to ensure smooth completion of cotton purchases.

Cci will buy minimum support price for cotton at rs 5,825 per quintal with eight per cent humidity, Rs 5,766.75 per nine per cent humidity, Rs 5,708.50 per 10 per cent humidity, Rs 5,650.25 per 11 per cent moisture, and 11 per cent moisture. 12 per cent humidity is Rs 5,582. In case of cotton with less humidity than recommended by CCI, the msp should pay Rs 5,825 per quintal with six per cent moisture at Rs 116.50 per quintal and Rs 58.25 per quintal.
