MLA Jignesh Mevani granted bail by court, controversial tweet on PM Modi

Ahmedabad: A major relief has been granted by a court to Independent MLA Jignesh Mevani of Gujrat. In fact, the court has granted them bail. He was arrested by the Assam Police on Wednesday night for tweeting against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He was then sent to judicial custody for a day.

After Mevani's arrest, congress leaders and workers created a ruckus outside the Kokrajhar police station. An FIR was lodged against Mevani under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the IT Act for tweeting against PM Narendra Modi. Following this, the police arrested pro-Congress independent MLA Jignesh Mevani from Palanpur town.  

According to the information, Mevani had claimed in his tweet that PM Modi considers Godse as God. In the same case, the police arrested Mevani and took him to Kokrajhar via Guwahati and produced him before the court of the judicial magistrate. He was sent to one day's police custody.
