Court Summons Bhupinder Singh Hooda over Robert Vadra Land Case

Bhupinder Singh Hooda former Chief Minister of Haryana has been requested for questioning by a retired judge investigating controversial land deals involving several companies including that of Congress president Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra. Bhupinder Singh asked to record his statement on the allotment of land for commercial use in Gurgaon ner Delhi by Justice SN Dhingra on Monday.

Mr. Hooda who was the the Chief Minister of Haryana for 10years is accused for illegal land allotment that led to windfall gains for Mr. Vadra who is the husband of Sonia Gandhi’s daughter Priyanka Gandhi.

The land was sold to real estate giant DLF in 2012. The BJP alleges that the Congress allowed Mr Vadra to circumvent rules and sell the land at a huge profit though nothing went to the government.

The BJP government appointed the inquiry commission last year.
