Covid Declines, India reports 1,675 new cases, 31 deaths

NEW DELHI: India reported 1,675 new Covid cases on Tuesday, down from 2,022 cases the day before, according to the Union Health Ministry.

During the same time period, 31 Covid deaths were reported in the country, bringing the total death toll to 5,24,490.  The active caseload is 14,841 cases, representing 0.03 percent of the total positive cases in the country.

In the previous 24 hours, 1,635 patients were rescued, bringing the total to 4,26,00,737. Consequently, India's recovery rate is 98.75 percent. The daily positivity rate has dropped to 0.41 percent, but the weekly positivity rate is still at 0.49 percent. During the same time period, 4,07,626 tests were carried out across the country, bringing the total to 84.74 crore.

India's Covid-19 vaccine coverage had reached 192.52 crore by Tuesday morning, thanks to 2,42,67,393 sessions. Since the start of the immunisation campaign for this age group, almost 3.30 crore adolescents have received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
