Covid Roundup: India logs 1260 new cases, 83 fatalities in 24-hrs

New Delhi: In the last 24 hours, India has registered 1,260 new cases of the novel coronavirus, including 83 deaths as a result of the infection. According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Saturday (April 2), the country saw 1,404 discharges in the previous 24 hours, bringing the total recovery rate to roughly 98.76 percent and total recoveries to 4,24,92,326.

According to ministry data released today, the overall number of active COVID-19 cases in India has decreased to 13,445 (0.03 percent). The country's total death toll today stands at 5,21,264. The first death from the COVID epidemic was recorded in India in March 2020.

According to data published by the municipal health department on Friday, Delhi reported 131 new COVID-19 cases with a positive rate of 0.57 percent and one death owing to the viral disease. With these new cases, the total number of cases in the national capital has risen to 18,65,101. It said that the dead toll had risen to 26,153. As per the department's latest bulletin, 23,105 COVID-19 tests were performed the day before.
