NEW DELHI: As per data from the Union health ministry on March 22, India registered 1,134 new cases of Covid cases, a significant surge from the previous day's 699 infections. As per data, 7,026 cases are currently active, which represents 0.01 percent of all cases. Over the same period, the nation also recorded five Covid deaths, one from each of Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and one that Kerala reconciled. The number of Covid-related fatalities in the nation to date is 5,30,813. The recovery of 662 patients in a single day brought the total to 4,41,60,279 patients. As a result, the recovery rate is currently 98.79%. The country's Weekly Positivity Rate is currently 0.98 percent, and the Daily Positivity Rate has been estimated to be 1.09 percent. Also, during that time 1,03,831 tests were completed, bringing the total to nearly 92.05 crore. According to the ministry, as of this morning, India had delivered 220.65 crore doses of the Covid vaccine, including 7,673 doses in the previous day. Participants of the National Clinical Registry of Covid-19 who were followed for a year reported dyspnea or shortness of breath (18.6%), fatigue ( 10.5%) and mental health issues (9.3%) after 30-60 days post-discharge. Bharati Pravin Pawar, Minister of State for Health, stated in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha on March 21 that the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has approved studies on post-Covid sequelae to investigate the possibility of a study of the association of serious complications and coronavirus infection as part of the Covid registry.
