Covid-19: 552 new Covid-19 cases report in Singapore

Singapore: According to a news release from the Ministry of Health, 552 new instances of Covid-19 have been recorded in Singapore. According to sources, 523 of the new cases were in the community, 14 were in migrant worker dorms, and 15 were imported cases, bringing the overall number of cases in the country to 269,211 as of Sunday.

There are now 863 Covid-19 cases in hospitals, with 155 cases requiring oxygen supplementation in the general ward, six cases in the ICU being unstable and under careful observation, and 52 patients in the ICU being severely ill and intubated. The overall ICU utilisation rate is at 51.2 percent. Thirteen more patients died as a result of Covid-19 infections, increasing the total number of deaths to 759, according to the ministry.

In addition, the Ministry of Health has discovered another imported Covid-19 case that has tested positive for the Omicron variant preliminarily. The patient has been fully immunised and is experiencing only minor symptoms. He had not interacted with the community, and no indication of community transmission has been found as a result of the case.
