India ' A ' beats Sri Lanka ' A ' by 152 runs in Final Four-day match

New Delhi: leg-spinner Rahul Chahar's superb bowling in the second innings India ' A ' beat Sri Lanka ' A ' by 152 runs on the fourth day of the second and final four-day match here on Monday to name the series 2-0. The first of the two-match series was won by India ' a ' by an innings and 205 runs. On the fourth day of the match, India ' a ' needed three wickets to win and the Indian Pacers completed the formality in 16 overs.

As per the information received from sources, World Fernando (32) and Lahiru Kumara (13) for the tenth wicket made a partnership of 43 to make India wait a bit. Sri Lanka ' A ' had got a target of 430 runs to win in the fourth innings, but most of their batsmen appeared unsettled ahead of Chahar's spin and the entire team were bowled out for 277 runs in 66.4 overs.

With this, apart from Chahar for India, Shivam Dubey had two while Sandeep warrior, Jayant Yadav and Aditya Sarwate each got a breakthrough. India ' A ' had scored 269 runs in the first innings, in reply to which Sri Lanka's innings was reduced to 212 runs. In the second innings, India scored 372 runs to put Sri Lanka a target of 430 runs to win. Indian wicketkeeper Kona Bharat Man of the match was the first innings century (117) and a half-century (60) in the second innings. The two teams will now play the five-match unofficial ODI series from June 6.
