PFI's role in Jamia violence, crime branch will send notice to 5 members

New Delhi: Delhi Police will send a notice to members of the Popular Front of India (PFI) in connection with the violence in Delhi's Jamia Millia Islamia University on December 15, in protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). It has been reported that Delhi Police is going to issue a notice to 5 members of PFI in the Crime Branch SIT Jamia violence case.

On 29 January, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police has released pictures of 70 accused of Jamia violence. The police will also reward the person for giving information about them. On 15 December, arson and sabotage were carried out against the Citizenship Act in Delhi. Buses were lit. Government property was damaged.

In the Jamia violence case, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police has also questioned former MLA of Congress Asif Mohammad Khan, local leader Ashu Khan and Jamia student Chandan Kumar. Ashu Khan is the local leader of the Jamia area and has also contested the councilor elections from there, but he was defeated. Ashu Khan and Mohammad Asif are accused of inciting the people in the violence that took place on December 15, leading to arson.
