Ferozepur: A murder incident has emerged from the Ferozepur district of Punjab. A retired CRPF soldier who was living alone in a mansion in Mangekhan village of the district was strangled to death by an unknown person. Necessary and grounded documents were found burnt in the house. Police cedar police on Thursday took the body and transported it to the civil hospital in Jeera for postmortem. Police have registered a case of murder against unknown people. According to the police, the retired CRPF soldier Sucha Singh (66), son Munsa Singh, lived alone in the village Mangekhan Haveli. After his retirement, he used to cultivate his 40 acres of land. On Thursday morning, at half-past six, Sucha Singh's servant Charanjit Singh reached Haveli and knocked on the door. When Sucha Singh did not open the door for long, the servant informed the police station, Sadar. The police somehow reached the spot and entered inside the mansion. Ongoing to the mansion, Sucha Singh was lying dead and important and ground documents were burnt in the mansion. Police noticed that Sucha Singh had a rope mark around his neck. It seemed that the accused had strangled Sucha Singh to death. Police said that Sucha's family members live abroad. After taking the body in possession, he has been sent for post-mortem to the civil hospital in Jeera. Police have currently registered a case against unknown accused.
