Superstar Rajinikanth got Dada Saheb Phalke Award

New Delhi: Union Minister Prakash Javadekar has announced the Dada Saheb Phalke Award on Thursday. This time South superstar Rajinikanth will be honored with the Dada Saheb Phalke Award. "We are happy that filmmakers, actors, actresses, singers, musicians from all parts of the country have been given Dada Saheb Phalke Award from time to time. We are delighted to announce this year's Dada Saheb Phalke Award to legendary actor Rajinikanth today."

"Rajinikanth has been ruling the cinema world for the past 5 decades and has been entertaining people. That is why this time Dada Saheb Phalke's jury has decided to give the award to Rajinikanth," he said.  "This year, the panel did it. In this jury, Asha Bhosle, Mohanlal, Vishwajit Chatterjee, Shankar Mahadevan, and Subhash Ghai were meeting and recommending the Dada Saheb Phalke award to Rajinikanth with an opinion."

Prakash added, "Rajinikanth has built this place in the hearts of the people with his talent, hard work, and perseverance. This is his true pride. Dada Saheb Phalke Award is important because Dada Saheb Phalke first made the cinema King Harishchandra in 1913. After that King Harishchandra Cinema, he was called the first Tapestry Maharishi and after the demise of Dada Saheb Phalke, the award was kept in his name and the award has been given 50 times till date."
